Ingredients
- 1 tsp Oil
- 1 cup Sandge
- 2 tsp Oil
- 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1/4 tsp Hing / Asafoetida
- 7~8 Curry leaves
- 1 cup Finely chopped Onion
- 1 tbsp Kanda lasun masala
- 1 cup Hot water
- 2 tsp Roasted peanut powder
- Salt to taste
- Finely chopped Coriander leaves
Instructions
- Heat up oil in a pan and add sandge.
- Shallow fry sandge until they get nice red or brownish color.
- Take out sandge into a bowl.
- Heat up oil in the same pan. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle up.
- Add hing, curry leaves, and onion.
- Mix well and fry the onion until it gets a nice golden color.
- Add kanda lasun masala and fry again for a minute.
- Add sandge and coat them with masala.
- Add hot water and mix well. Cover and cook on medium heat for about 15-20 minutes until they become soft.
- But sandge should not lose their texture while cooking.
- You can add more hot water if bhaji dries while cooking.
- Add roasted peanut powder and salt.
- Mix well and cover and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Turn off the gas and add coriander. Sandgyanchi bhaji is already.
- It goes well with bhakri or poli.
- It goes well with rice as side dish.
Notes
- If you add cold water in hot tadka, it’s temperature decreases and also taste reduces. So try to add hot water while cooking bhaji.
- If you don’t have kanda lasun masala, you can add goda masala and red chili powder. You also can use combination of garam masala, red chili powder and coriander powder.
- You can add more water and make bhaji with gravy too.
