  • 1 cup of kala chana
  • Oil
  • Onions
  • Ginger Garlic Paste

Kala Chana Curry


For soaking a chana

  • Take kala chana into a bowl and wash it under cold water for at least 2~3 times
  • Once chana is washed then soak this chana into enough water overnight or for at least 8~10 hours
  • Next day, chana will expand in its size. Then put this soaked chana into pressure cooker and hear 4~5 whistles.
  • Boiled chana is ready for cooking

For preparing curry

  • Heat oil in the pan. Once oil is hot then add chopped onions and mix. Cook onions until it gets light golden color
  • Then add ginger garlic paste, coriander powder and chana masala. Mix and cook it for 2 mins
  • Add chopped tomatoes in the pan and season this with garma masala and red chili powder
  • Cook onions till tomatoes cooked completely and gets mashed up completely with onions
  • Add boiled chana into pan and add salt. Mix and cover it and cook it for 10 mins.
  • After 10 mins, kala chana curry is ready to serve
