Ingredients

  • 1 bunch of Spinach Leaves
  • 1 cup Chole / Garbanzo Beans
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 Green Chilli
  • 1 tbsp grated Garlic
  • 1 Onion finely chopped
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 1/2 tsp Fennel Seeds
  • 2 Green Cardamom
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Kasoori Methi

Instructions

Preparation

  • Add spinach leaves in boiling water and boil for 5 minutes.
  • After spinach leaves and cooked and cooled down, put that into a blender along with green chilli and grind to make a smooth puree.
  • Soak chole overnight in enough water.
  • In the morning, put choles in a pressure cooker, add some water and cook until 7 yo 8 whistles.

Main Dish

  • Heat up oil, add bay leaf, fennel seeds, green cardamom, and cook for a minute.
  • Then add finely chopped onion and cook until onion gets a light golden color.
  • After the onion is cooked, add garlic paste, mix and cook for a minute.
  • Then add garam masala, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, mix well and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Add boiled chickpeas into onion masala, mix well.
  • Then add spinach puree, mix well.
  • Add kasoori methi, salt to taste, mix well
  • Cook for 10 minutes.
