This is kind of basic curry which is also called as cut in Marathi which is commonly used in many of the Maharashtrian recipes.. This curry can be used as a universal curry wherein you can add any of your favorite vegetables or you can also chicken or lamb to make non-veg curry as well.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1 big size onion thinly sliced
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tsp of cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp Coconut Powder
  • 2 Finely chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1 tbsp of deggi mirch powder

Instructions

  • Heat up 1tsp oil in the pan and then add cumin seeds and garlic. Cook this on medium to high heat till onion gets light brown color
  • Add some coconut powder in it and continue to cook for 5~6 minutes
  • Turn the heat off and wait till the time masala gets cooled down.
  • Then add some finely chopped tomatoes into mixer. Then add coriander powder, garam masala, onion masala and water and grind it to make it smooth paste
  • Heat up 1 tsp oil in the pan and add masala paste and give it a mix.
  • Then cook this masala for 5~6 minutes on medium-high heat.
  • Add 1 tbsp of deggi mirch powder and cook it for another 5 minutes till oil starts to get separated.
  • Add some water and salt and mix it properly
  • Simmer this to medium to high heat for 10 minutes
  • Your Curry is ready now. You can add Patwadi or any of your favorite vegetables in it.
