Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Maida / All purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup Curd
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • Vanilla essence
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • A little less than 1/4 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/4 cup Strawberry jam

Instructions

  • In a bowl take curd.
  • Add sugar, oil, baking soda, baking powder, 2-3 drops vanilla essence and mix everything well together.
  • Rest the mixture for about 5 minutes.
  • Take a pan and add a thin layer of salt at the base of it.
  • You can use a big pot or pressure cooker in place of pan.
  • Keep a pot on the layer of the salt.
  • Cover with lid and preheat the pan on medium heat for about 7-8 minutes.
  • Take a steel dish and grease it well with oil and line it up with butter paper.
  • You can use aluminium foil instead of butter paper.
  • After 5 minutes sieve the maida into the mixture and fold it well with the mixture.
  • Add 2 tsp water and fold it again.
  • Pour out the batter into the steel dish.
  • Spread it evenly.
  • Tap it well to remove the air bubbles if any.
  • Transfer the dish in the preheated pan on the pot.
  • Cover and bake on medium heat for about 10 minutes.
  • Transfer the strawberry jam into a pan and add about 2-3 tsp water.
  • You can use any jam of your choice.
  • Mix well and cook on medium heat for a few minutes.
  • Turn off the gas and strawberry mixture is ready.
  • Insert a tooth pick in the cake.
  • If it comes out clean then the cake is ready.
  • Take the dish out. Take other plate lined with butter paper and flip the cake plate over it.
  • Take the dish off and remove the wax paper.
  • Flip the cake over again.
  • Spread the jam mixture on the cake when it is hot.
  • Cut the edges of the cake with the help of knife.
  • Roll the cake with the help of wax paper.
  • Wrap it in other wax paper.
  • Seal the edges and transfer the roll into freezer to set for 1 hour to set.
  • After an hour remove the wax paper and cut the roll into pieces.
  • Swiss roll is already.
