Ingredients

  • 100 gm Aliv
  • 1 cup Coconut water
  • 3 cups Grated fresh Coconut
  • 1 cup Gudh / Jaggery
  • 1 tbsp chopped Almonds
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Cashew nuts
  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg

Instructions

  • In a bowl take aliv. Add coconut water and mix well.
  • Coconut water gives a nice flavor to ladoos.
  • You can use regular water too.
  • Cover and rest it for 2 hours.
  • Heat up a pan on medium heat.
  • Add freshly grated coconut, soaked aliv, gudh, almonds, and cashew nuts.
  • You can skip dry fruits if you don’t want them.
  • Mix well and cook on medium heat until the mixture comes together really good and leaves the sides of the pan.
  • After cooking for about 15 minutes, the mixture will come together.
  • Turn off the gas and grated nutmeg in it. Stir well.
  • You can add cardamom powder instead of nutmeg.
  • When the mixture cools down a little, roll the ladoos.
  • Do not let the mixture cool down completely or the ladoos won’t be rolled.
  • This ladoo will remain good at room temperature for about 4-5 days.
  • These will remain good in airtight containers in the freeze for about 8-15 days.

Notes

  • You can use the coconut water that we get while grating coconut or you can use tender coconut water.
  • Never buy nutmeg powder from the market as is has lost the flavor. Try to buy the whole nutmeg.
