Ingredients
For Making Dough
- 3/4 cup Maida/plane flour
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tsp Oil
For making chicken
- 1/2 lb chicken
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp Kasoori Methi
- 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
Egg Mixture
- 1 Large Egg
- chopped green chilli
- 1 tbsp chopped Onion
- 2 tbsp coriander leaves
- pinch of black pepper
- salt to taste
Instructions
To marinate chicken
- Take boneless skinless chicken into a bowl.
- To that add ginger garlic paste.
- Then add red chilli powder, turmeric powder.
- Also, add garam masala, coriander powder, and salt to taste.
- Add lemon juice and mix well.
- Once the masala is well coated on chicken.
- Cover and leave it to marinate for 1 hour.
To make Baida Roti dough
- Take maida into a bowl.
- To that add salt and oil and mix well.
- Add water and make that into a semi-soft dough.
- Cover and allow it to rest for 15 minutes.
To cook Chicken
- Once the chicken is marinated, heat oil in a pan.
- Add all marinated chicken into the oil, mix well.
- Cover and cook for 15 to 10 minutes or until chicken is tender.
- Once the chicken is cooked, add kasoori methi and coriander leaves.
- Mix well and wait until chicken cooks down a bit.
To prepare the egg mixture
- Break one large egg into a bowl.
- Season that with green chillies.
- Add chopped onions, coriander leaves.
- Also, add salt and pepper to taste.
- Whisk the mixture well with a fork and keep it aside.
To assemble Chicken Baida Roti
- Take the dough and knead it one more time to make it more soft and pliable.
- Now divide the dough in two equal portions.
- Take one of the ball and roll it out in to very thin roti.
- Heat skillet and put rolled roti on it.
- Add good amount of chicken mixture at the Centre of roti and spread that out evenly.
- Now add generous amount of egg mixture over chicken.
- Now lift the edges of the roti and flod it to give it a rectangular shape.
- Drizzle generous amount of oil around roti.
- Allow it to cook till it gets good golden crisp from all the sides.
Notes
- You can also use chicken breast.
- Leftover tandoori chicken works best for making chicken baida roti.
- Make sure that skillet is not too hot when you put roti over it. Otherwise roti will cook right away and it will become difficult to fold it.
