Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup Whole Wheat Flour
- 2 tbsp Besan / Chickpea Flour
- 2 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp Red Chilli powder
- 1 tsp roasted cumin powder
- 1 tsp Sesame seeds
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/4 tsp Carom seeds / Owa
- 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1 tsp Garlic and green chili paste
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp Oil to knead the dough
- 1 cup finely chopped Methi Leaves
- 1/2 cup Yogurt
- Water as needed
Instructions
- Wash and chop fenugreek leaves finely.
- Now take whole wheat flour into a bowl.
- To that add besan, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chili powder, roasted cumin powder,
- sesame seeds, turmeric powder, carom seeds, cumin seeds, garlic, and green chili paste and a tsp of oil.
- Mix that up very well.
- Now add fenugreek leaves and mix well.
- Add yogurt and start to knead that into a dough.
- Add water to make this into a semi-stiff dough.
- Once the dough is ready cover it and allows it to rest for 10 to 15 minutes.
- After resting the dough, give it one more knead.
- Now divide it into small golf size balls.
- Take one of the dough balls, deep that into dry flour.
- Now roll that into small chapati about 5" diameter.
- Now put the thepla on to hot skillet and allow it to cook until it gets light brown spots.
- Then give it a flip.
- And cook it from another side as well.
- Brush some oil and allow it to roast one more time.
- Serve it with yogurt and some pickle on the side!
