Sandge being prepared during summer is summer special recipe. These are small dumplings made from different dal. You can make sabzi or amti from it. These are life saver if no vegetable is available in your pantry and you have to make something really quick. Here we go – Sandge.

Ingredients

  • 250 gm Matki dal / Moth beans
  • 1/4 cup Moong / Split gram
  • 1/4 cup Chala dal / Bengal gram
  • 1 tbsp Garlic
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • A pinch of Hing / Asafetida

Instructions

  • Take matki, moong and chana dal and wash them really good under running water 2-3 times.
  • Soak them separately over night in enough water.
  • In the morning drain excess water and wash the dal again.
  • Mix all the dal together and add garlic and cumin seeds.
  • Take the mixture into a blender pot and blend it coarse like idly rava. Do not make fine paste.
  • Take it out into a bowl. Add salt to taste, red chili powder, turmeric powder and asafetida. Mix it really good.
  • Grease a plastic sheet or dish with oil.
  • Take a spoonful of mixture in hand and make sandge with the help of nail or thumb.
  • Don’t make sandge in round shape.
  • Sundry sandge under hot sun for at least 2 days.
  • Dry for about 4-5 hours and flip over.
  • Dry from another side for another 4-5 hours.
  • When sandge are well dried, let them cool completely.
  • You can store these in airtight container for and year.
