Ingredients

  • 2 cups Whole wheat flour
  • 4 Bananas
  • 1/4 cup Powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp Vanilla essence
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Nut meg powder
  • 1/2 cup Oil
  • 1/4 cup Walnuts
  • 1/4 cup Water

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven at 180 Deg C.
  • In a bowl take wheat flour.
  • Add baking soda, baking powder, salt and nut meg powder. Mix well.
  • In another bowl take bananas and mash well with a potato masher. You also can grate bananas if you want.
  • Add sugar, vanilla essence, oil and mix well.
  • Add water and mix well.
  • Take a sieve and strain the wheat flour mixture into banana.
  • Mix well using cut and fold method.
  • Add walnuts and mix well. You can add almonds, pecans, raisins.
  • Take baking tin and grease it well with oil and line up with a parchment paper at the base.
  • Pour out the cake batter into the tray and spread it evenly.
  • Bake the banana bread on 180 Deg C for about 30-40 minutes.
  • Insert a tooth pick at the centre of the cake.
  • If it comes out clean it means the cake is ready.
  • Let the bread cool down the cake for at least 10 minutes.
  • Loosen up the sides with the help of knife.
  • Take a dish and flip the cake over into it.
  • Remove the parchment paper and let it cool down for about 10-15 minutes.
  • Cut the bread into pieces and banana bread is already.
  • You can store this bread in freeze.
  • Take it out before eating put it in toaster oven and have it with a little butter over it.
  • You can store this is vacuum sealed zip lock bag and freeze it. It remains good for a long time.

Notes

  • The wheat flour should have a little coarse texture. You can use store bought wheat flour as it has a little coarse texture.
  • If the bananas are big then use 3 bananas. Bananas should be well ripened.
  • You can use cinnamon powder instead of nut meg powder.
