Ingredients

  • 3 cups Wheat flour
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Rava (Optional)

Instructions

  • Take wheat flour in a mixing bowl. Add salt and mix well. Add Rava (Optional).
  • Add a little water at a time and make dough of it. The consistency of the dough should be medium.
  • Brush a little oil over it. Cover and give it a standing time of 30 minutes.
  • Knead the dough once again. Make small balls of this dough and roll them in the shape of puri.
  • Another way to make puri is to roll a big chapati and make small puris out of it with the help of a lid.
  • The puri should be medium-thick, not too thick nor too thin.
  • Do not use dry flour while rolling the puris You can use oil if needed.
  • Heat oil in a pan for frying. Put a small ball of dough in hot oil. If it comes immediately to the surface of oil, it means the oil is enough hot.
  • Put the puri in hot oil. Press it a bit.
  • Flip over and fry from another side as well.
  • Fry until puri gets golden color from both sides.
  • Take it out on a tissue paper. Puris are ready to serve.
