Plain paratha is a nice variation to your regular chapatti roti or fulka. This is a little thick and crispy Indian flat bread. Do try it and let me know how you liked this paratha in the comment box below.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Wheat flour
  • Salt to taste
  • Water
  • Oil

Instructions

  • Take wheat flour into a dish and add salt.
  • Mix well and add a little water at a time and knead dough.
  • The consistency of dough should be semi stiff, not as thick as puri or as thin as chapatti.
  • Apply a little oil to the dough and transfer it into a bowl.
  • Cover and give it a resting time of about 30 minutes.
  • Take the dough out and knead it once more.
  • Make medium size balls from the dough.
  • Take one ball and make it smooth.
  • Dip it in dry flour and roll a chapatti of about 4-5”.
  • Apply oil and spread it all over the chapatti.
  • Fold chapatti into half and again spread oil.
  • Fold the chapatti again into quarter and seal the paratha.
  • Dip paratha again into dry flour and roll it in triangular shape paratha. It should be little thick.
  • Heat up a pan. Transfer the paratha on the pan and roast for about a minute.
  • When small bubbles begin to appear, flip paratha over.
  • Spread oil on this side and flip it over again.
  • Spread oil on other side as well as roast it really good from both sides.
  • When paratha is nice and crispy, take it out into a dish.
  • Paratha is already. It goes well with any gravy sabzi or curry or non veg like chicken, mutton.
  • You can make 5 parathas from 1 1/2 cups wheat flour.
