Aloo roti is another form of aloo paratha. This is a very easy and simple recipe. Boiled and grated aloo added to wheat flour with some twist. This is a good tiffin recipe. Do try it and do not forget to like, comment, share and subscribe.

Ingredients

  • 1 large Potato
  • 1/2 cup Maida / All purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Green chili-Garlic paste (4~5 Garlic cloves and 2~3 Green chilies)
  • 1 tbsp Kasuri methi
  • Finely chopped Coriander leaves
  • 1/4 tsp Baking powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil

Instructions

  • Take a potato and boil it. Peel the potato and grate it.
  • Take grated potato into a bowl.
  • Add maida. You can use whole wheat flour instead of maida.
  • Add green chili-garlic paste, Kasuri methi, coriander leaves, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
  • Add a little water at a time and make knead the dough.
  • Divide the dough into 2 equal size portions and make it smooth.
  • Dust some dry flour and roll the dough into a paratha. You can roll the roti thick or thin as you like.
  • Cut the paratha into 4 parts.
  • Heat up a pan. Transfer the paratha on the pan.
  • After roasting for about 2 minutes, flip the paratha over.
  • Add a little oil on the paratha. You can use ghee or butter instead of oil.
  • Roast until it turns nice golden from both sides.
  • After roasting for about 3-4 minutes, take paratha off the pan and transfer into a dish. Aloo roti is already.
  • You can serve roti as it is or it goes well with pickle, chutney or any type of curry.

Notes

  • Baking powder makes roti nice, soft, and fluffy.
