Spinach Pakoda is a very popular Indian snack food - especially in the North. The chickpea batter gives them a unique flavour, and their crispy crust encases all spinach leaves. This is very easy to prepare and hardly takes half an hour to be ready to be served.
- 1 cup Gram flour / besan
- 1 tsp Red Chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp Carom Seeds
- Salt to taste
- Spinach Leaves
- Pinch of baking soda
- Take besan a mixing bowl. Add all dry spices to it and mix this all well.
- Gradually pour the water and mix to form a smooth batter.
- Heat oil in a pan on a medium high.
- Coat the spinach leaves in the batter and fry them in small batches until golden brown. Drain on paper towels before serving.
